I will always remember the time you bought me a Venti Bold. You dropped all your plans and drove 12 hours to come stay with me for the night because I had a rough day. You knew that the coffee and time with you was just what I needed to turn my day around.
Thank you for your faithfulness towards me that day and all of my life. You have always been so willing to set aside your projects and help me with mine. I know there are days I will call you when you have nothing short of a full to-do list yet you still make time for me even when your problems may be bigger. Thank you for always answering my phone calls to help me anyway.
Thank you for being committed and faithful to me. You attended every one of my piano recitals, cheerleading competitions, dance showcases, Sonrise performances, and award ceremonies. You have always been present to celebrate my accomplishments and this means the world to me.
Thank you for being such a beautiful example of what it means to be a Christian woman today. Your faith, dedication, and joy for the Lord shines so bright. You are an inspiration to live up to daily. Your commitment in your marriage is sound because of your deep commitment to Christ. This has shown me what love truly looks like and why Christ needs to be in the center of the relationship. Thank you for instilling this into my life.
Thank you for everything you have done for me, Jenny, and Grace. Putting your career off to homeschool us every day has made a positive impact on our lives. We recognize this was a sacrifice for you, yet you would do it all over again just so you could spend that extra time with us. This is more than your faithfulness to us- it is because of your love for us.
Thank you for all the little things you have done over the years that went unnoticed or unappreciated at the time. You always made sure our clothes were clean and ironed, we had a dinner as a family in the evening, the dishes were always washed before bed, and our hair was always neat for church. You paid attention to the detail and made sure we had everything we needed. You also instilled in us the importance of learning how to do this for ourselves when we were old enough. These skills have helped tremendously in college and will continue to do so when we each have a family of our own.
Thank you for the “Good night, sweet dreams, I love you!” texts you send me every. single. night. Even though I’m not living at home anymore, you still check-in with me to see how my day went and make sure I’m doing okay.
Thank you for letting me have my independence, even when you know my decisions will not pan-out as expected. Experiencing things for myself is how I learn and grow. I know you want what’s best for me and express this in such a way that still allows me to have my freedom. Thank you for your open arms even when I go my own direction and then need to crawl back and have your help picking up the pieces.
Thank you for being so caring and compassionate towards me. You know when to listen and when to give advice. You understand that the role of a mom and a friend are different and you know the appropriate time to be each. You always keep my best interest in mind.
Thank you for letting me know when “the cute boy” is working. You always make me laugh.
Thank you for your motherly intuition. You can always sense when I’m a little bit off and need extra love. You always care for me a little extra on these days and I am so thankful for that.
Thank you for making me feel safe when I am in a vulnerable place. You bring everything forth in truthfulness, grace, and beauty. You make my life rich in love. You make me feel treasured.
Thank you for always making me coffee when I am at home with you. I enjoy our visits in the morning.
Thank you especially for the Venti Bold on that tearful day. Thank you for wrapping me in your arms and loving me every single day of my twenty-one years.
I love you always Momma,
